Making it Through by Nicole Scott

When I was 22 yrs old I found myself unemployed, serious back injuries, and a single mother of 2 children, a 2 yr old and an infant as well as having serious postpartum depression.  I had no income, no help and no vehicle at the time.  I found myself crying at the drop of a hat from my back pain being so excruciating(having 2 ruptured discs and a couple bulging as well) and also from depression.  I thought things could not get worse.  My infant was actually lactose intolerant and also colicky through the first six months and insisted on me constantly holding him.  It was unreal, I made it through, eventually had back surgery, got an excellent paying job as well as sent the state after my ex, their father, and I am doing well now.  When things look the worst and sometimes they do get worse they can also get better.  You pick yourself up, brush yourself off and say "you can do this", no matter what it takes you will live, and you can change this.  There's always a way to change things.  I have recently said those words tomy brother who has been suffering alcoholism and addictions.  He was glad to hear them and I was glad he has taken them to heart.  He is beating his demons as I have beat mine so far.  All will be better if you roll up your sleeves and get a little dirty fixing your messes.
