Nick Loeb, the boyfriend of Modern Family star Sofia Vergara, was rushed to a hospital in Bel Air, California yesterday. Loeb, 35, survived a major car accident, which resulted in "a severely broken leg and a deep gash across the chest" and he is currently in intensive care.

The actress, fresh off her Emmy-nomination for playing Gloria in the hit ABC show, began Loeb earlier this year. The two vacationed in Italy in July.

Vergara "sounded positive in a message to her Twitter followers on Tuesday afternoon," reports AOL's PopEater.com.

Vergara wrote on her Twitter page, "Thanks everybody, Nick is doing very good. Pelvic fracture, lots of pain but he is going to be ok. Gracias!!!"
