Actor and Wall Street star Michael Douglas, 65, says he is "very optimistic" after doctors found a tumor in his throat. Doctors expect Douglasto make a full recovery, the actor's spokesman said Monday. The star will be treated with radiation and chemotherapy over eight weeks.

Douglasis married to actress Catherine Zeta-Jones and they have two children together. Douglas' son, Cameron, from a previous marriage, came under legal fire earlier this year for selling illegal drugs.

Despite the recent hardships, Douglas has enjoyed a long career in Hollywood spanning some five decades. He made his first major mark as a producer on 1975 drama "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest," which earned him an Oscar, and got his big break as an actor in 1970s television series "The Streets of San Francisco."

Douglaswill He will reprise the Gekko role in this fall's "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps," which had its international premiere at May's Cannes film festival.
