Actress Jaclyn Smith and Kmart are celebrating their 25th anniversary of their partnership this year, and will be honoring the occasion by donating proceeds from a special collection to breast cancer research.

Smith and the retailer have collaborated on fashion and home collections for the last 25 years, and will be selling new limited edition pieces that will be easily identifiable by their small pink ribbon that is a signature of the fight against breast cancer.

The special products will go on sale in September and will be sold through October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. They company plans on donating $1 from the purchase of pieces from the collection to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF). Their goal is to raise $100,000.

"As a breast cancer survivor myself, this cause is near and dear to my heart, to my loved ones and to my extended family at Kmart," said Smith. "I'm grateful that my relationship with Kmart has not only allowed me to provide great design at a truly affordable price, but also to work with incredible organizations like BCRF to give back to a cause that is working diligently in the fight against breast cancer."

The American Cancer Society estimates that more than 250,000 new cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed this year in the United States. The chances of a woman developing breast cancer in her lifetime is one in eight.

The Breast Cancer Research Foundation was founded in 1993 and has raised more than $287 million to support breast cancer research. The foundation's goal is to find a cure for the disease by providing funding for innovative research all over the world.

The BCRF also provides information on products and programs that support survivors of the disease, and how individuals may donate to become a partner in the fight against breast cancer.ADNFCR-2654-ID-800022135-ADNFCR
