After finding out that you have been a part of investment fraud, you need to begin the financial -- and emotional -- recovery process. Government and consumer advocacy groups provide a variety of resources to report the fraud, and help you understand how to deal with it.

If you are dealing with the aftermath of being victim of investment fraud, you have options. You may be able to write off your investment-fraud losses on your tax return. You may also be able to bring a legal case against the person or company that took your money, but it's wise to talk to a securities lawyer about how to do so. Most resources advise that you contact government and business agencies to file a complaint, then find a securities attorney to take action against the criminal.
