Great Britain pledged 38 million pounds to aid Ethiopia as its residents suffer through a terrible drought. An estimated ten million people are at risk from the droughts and the pledged money will help 1.3 million people survive over the next three months.

In 2011, much needed rain did not arrive in parts of Kenya, Ethiopia and Somali which is now making the growth of crops and the maintaining of livestock nearly impossible.

Thousands of families, now living in refugee camps, were forced from the homes in search of food and water.

The aid from Britain will help over a million people survive until the next possible harvest season this coming fall.
