Endometriosis is not a fatal condition. The worst case of endometriosis is that the disease can leave you infertile or you will have trouble conceiving. You may have to deal with the debilitating disease and the fear of not being able to have children. But, not all women who are diagnosed with endometriosis become infertile.

If you're dealing with endometriosis or its complications, you may want to consider joining a support group for women with endometriosis or fertility problems. We offer a community here on The Survivors Club. Sometimes it helps simply to talk to other women who can relate to your feelings and experiences.

Besides the physical symptoms associated with endometriosis, many women also feel bouts of intense emotional distress related to the possibility of infertility. If these feelings are prolonged, they actually might contribute to a worsening of the symptoms and harm both the physical and mental health of the patient. A woman may experience depression, apathy, fatigue, insomnia, and loss of self confidence when suffering from endometriosis.
