To celebrate breast cancer awareness month this past October, a group of breast cancer survivors acknowledged their individual victories over cancer by swimming with the dolphins, reports NBC Miami.

The breast cancer survivors spent the day "just enjoying ourselves," Ann Anthony told NBC, a breast cancer survivor who found a lump on her breast while taking a shower on Christmas Day in 2009. "Just the sheer joy -- no problems, no worrying about anything, just celebrating that we’re here together."

To help these breast cancer survivors unite and celebrate their survivorship, the Susan G. Komen Foundation and Miami Seaquarium collaborated on this event to give the 28 brave breast cancer survivors the the opportunity to swim with the dolphins.

"I’m a two-time breast cancer survivor and this has been an amazing experience that I never wanted to do before," said Lourdes Rosell. "Now I guess I have courage and I’m stronger."

The dolphins carried the women on a smooth ride to celebrate the finish of the scary and bumpy one of breast cancer.

"It’s breathtaking. I mean there are no words to express this wonderful event that they provided for us here today. It’s something I’ve wanted to do my entire life and just couldn’t afford," said 42-year-old Andrea Nugent.

Another breast cancer survivor Alecia Johnson a teacher and seven-year survivor applauded the Susan G. Komen Foundation and Miami Seaquarium for uniting the survivors at one event.

"It’s fabulous to always meet other survivors," she said. "We enjoy talking to one another, sharing our stories and sharing the hope."
