The most important step in recovery from anxiety is to recognize that the disorder is treatable and that you have the power to change your own behavior. It may take some time until you feel you've truly reached the recovery stage in your survivor journey. Along the way you will find out many things about yourself and you'll learn strategies to help you manage stress, thereby lowering your anxiety.

You will also learn that you do not have to believe every thought you have, and you have power and choice to associate yourself with the thoughts that are in your best selfinterest. So try to be patient and gentle with yourself throughout recovery, accept where you are right now because that is where you can move on from. There is no rush, and you don't have to force yourself to be something you are not:
