Finding yourself as a victim of an assault crime can be a very scary situation whether it is a domestic situation or in an unfamiliar territory. Each situation is different and should be handled carefully. If you find yourself being threatened by another person which is a type of assault, it is best to try and remove yourself from the situation before it escalates to a more violent situation. Although it is always best to remove yourself from a situation, there are ways to prepare yourself in the case of a violent confrontation. You can study martial arts techniques and learn certain techniques that can cause quick intense pain. One affective method is striking a male assailant in the groin. You can also carry a non-lethal weapon with you like mace. You could also use a stun gun or a baton. Effective use of these tools can give you enough time to escape and find help. You also can carry a whistle which can afford you attention if you are being assaulted.But remember that these techniques are last ditch efforts. Use you instinct and trust your gut when entering a possibly unsafe situation. Does something feel funny? If you don't trust the other person, take measure to leave.
